What changes the answer is cracking that runs off window and door corners together with staining below the sills. That pattern suggests water is getting in behind the cladding, and paint over it just hides the evidence. If that’s the case, we'll tell you to get a moisture inspection before we quote a repaint.
Most newer homes need their first major exterior refresh between 10 and 12 years out. By that time, original builder-grade coatings have faded, window surrounds have opened up, and unprimed trim edges are exposed to moisture. Catching these early seals your home before hidden wood rot sets in.
